Learn to paint with friends and Social Artworking!

I like to think of myself as an artistic person, but, in reality I am more of a graphic designer/photographer/crafter. NOT a fine artist in any sense of the term. I’ve painted, I’ve drawn, but I’m not all that good. So, when I had the opportunity to try out DecoArt’s Social Artworking sets, I was all for it! First, I picked out the picture I wanted to paint off of the Social Artworking website. While there were a few I was trying to choose from, I ended up with “Day at Sea” print.

Once all the supplies arrived, I had to invite some friends over.. that is not hard at all. We are always getting together to chat (*wink*). Even us homeschooling moms get together for a girls day every once it a while. But, I was thinking that the Social Artworking would work great as a couple’s night, girl’s night, girl’s day, or even would make a great family project (if your kids are old enough, that is). The great part was that I didn’t have to gather up any other supplies for our girl’s day other than a few towels and drinks. I did, also, print out a pretty little quote to tape onto the canvases as a fun little detail. When it came to the actual painting I was a little skeptical at first. I had never done an actual canvas painting, and I was nervous I wouldn’t be able to do it. Luckily Social Artworking sends excellent instructions, and I was able to follow them completely through and end up with a fabulous end result! Combining great friends, painting, sweet drinks, and laughing makes for just the perfect afternoon!
